We are pleased you have chosen Autonomic Health to support you with your health goals.

We understand that living with autonomic dysfunction, post-viral illness, autoimmune presentations, fatigue syndromes and related complex chronic conditions can be life-changing and, at times, overwhelming. Our aim is to provide specialist physiotherapy care that is compassionate, evidence-informed, practical and personalised.

About Autonomic Health

Autonomic Health provides telehealth physiotherapy services focused on complex chronic conditions, including autonomic dysfunction, autoimmune conditions, dysautonomia, post-viral syndromes, fatigue conditions and related neuro-immune presentations.

Appointments are delivered primarily via telehealth, allowing flexible access to care from your home environment.

What to Expect

Telehealth Appointments

We provide appointments via secure video consultation and telephone.

If you are attending by video, your booking confirmation email will contain your appointment link and access instructions. If technical difficulties arise, we will call your mobile number as a back-up, so please keep your phone nearby.

Your Initial Appointment

Your first consultation focuses on understanding your health history, current symptoms, functional capacity, goals and barriers to recovery. This may include:

  • Detailed history taking

  • Review of relevant investigations or specialist input

  • Education regarding symptom patterns and contributing factors

  • Identification of priorities and realistic next steps

  • Development of an individual management plan

Review Appointments

Follow-up consultations may focus on:

  • Progress review

  • Symptom troubleshooting

  • Pacing and activity planning

  • Exercise or rehabilitation progression

  • Nervous system regulation strategies

  • Return to work, study or life planning

  • Coordination with your broader healthcare team where appropriate

Reports

Routine correspondence with your healthcare team, where clinically appropriate, is included within consultation fees. This may include communication with your GP, specialist or other treating providers to support coordinated care.

If you require additional or more extensive reports for insurers, funding bodies, employers, legal matters or other applications, we are pleased to assist. Additional fees may apply based on the time required.

Fees

  • Initial Assessment – $250

  • Review Consultation – $200

  • Extended Review / Complex Case Review – $240

Fees are reviewed periodically and patients will be informed of any changes.​​

Pricing accountability: It is important to us to make care as accessible as possible. As such, our rates are set approximately 20% below the recommended hourly rate for the provision of physiotherapy services ($300/hr)

Accessibility & Inclusive Care

We are committed to making our service as accessible and inclusive as possible.

If you have accessibility requirements, please let us know via info@autonomichealth.com.au prior to your appointment so we can discuss appropriate supports where feasible.

This may include:

  • Split appointments or shorter sessions to reduce fatigue or cognitive load

  • Additional rest breaks during consultations

  • Adjustments for light, sound or sensory sensitivities

  • Written summaries or paced information delivery

  • Assistance for hearing, vision or communication needs

  • Use of interpreters or support persons

  • Flexible scheduling where clinically appropriate

  • Other reasonable adjustments specific to your circumstances

Booking, Payments and Cancellation Policy

Bookings

Appointments are by prior booking only. We may offer waitlist appointments when available.

Payments

Payment is due within 7 days of consultation unless otherwise arranged.

Available payment methods include:

  • Debit or credit card via secure encrypted payment form

  • Bank transfer via invoice

Where card payments are used, payment details are collected through a secure encrypted platform to help maintain confidentiality.

Medicare / Third Party Funding

Where eligible, rebates or third-party funding options may be available (for example GP Chronic Condition Management Plans, private health insurance, NDIS or insurer-funded services where applicable).

Please confirm eligibility prior to your appointment by emailing info@autonomichealth.com.au.

We routinely process Medicare rebates on behalf of eligible patients. Private health invoices can be supplied for self-claiming.

Cancellation Policy

We reserve appointment times specifically for you and appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule.

  • More than 48 hours notice: no fee

  • Less than 48 hours notice: cancellation fee of up to 100% may apply

  • Non-attendance without notice: full fee may apply

We understand emergencies and unexpected illness occur, and discretion may be used where appropriate.

Safety

Your safety is important to us.

Medical Emergencies

Autonomic Health is an allied health service. It is important to us that you receive the right care at the right time.

What we do: Expert rehabilitation and physiotherapy support.

What we do not do: Provide emergency medical care, crisis mental health care or direct medical management.

If you are experiencing new or concerning medical symptoms, medication issues or significant deterioration, please contact your GP or relevant specialist team.

If you experience urgent or severe symptoms (including worsening mental health), please call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.

Routine Safety Measures

We routinely screen your health to ensure participation in our service is safe and appropriate.

Please let us know if any of the following apply before or during treatment:

  • Significant deterioration in symptoms

  • Chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath or medical instability

  • New neurological symptoms

  • Pregnancy or major medication changes

  • Recent hospital admission or acute illness

  • Concerns regarding exercise tolerance or post-exertional symptom worsening

Telehealth Safety

To support safe telehealth care:

  • We routinely confirm your location in case emergency assistance is required

  • We routinely collect emergency contact details

  • We support care coordination with your broader healthcare team where appropriate

  • Please ensure a safe environment for movement-based activities and notify us if you feel unwell, dizzy or unsafe during the session

Communication Policy

We aim to provide timely, respectful and professional communication.

  • Administrative emails are monitored during business hours: info@autonomichealth.com.au 

  • As a small, niche service, we do not routinely have staff available to answer calls; please direct enquiries via email

  • We welcome reasonable non-urgent queries

  • Urgent medical concerns must be directed to your GP, specialist, emergency department or emergency services

  • Please allow reasonable time for non-urgent replies

Privacy, Confidentiality and Access to Your Information

Your personal information is managed in accordance with applicable Australian privacy obligations.

We collect information relevant to providing safe and effective care, maintaining clinical records and communicating regarding appointments and treatment.

Information is shared with third parties only with your consent, or where required by law.

You are entitled to access your health records. This may be facilitated through a point-in-time export of your file or secure portal access where available.
